MEET :THE HOLDING SPACE- A NON-PROFIT FOR BIRTHING WOMAN AND FAMILIES

I had the honor of working with two amazing women. Erin and Miranda are the founders of The Holding Space. The Holding Space is a non-profit for women and birthing families, dedicated to providing evidence-based education and support surrounding transitional life events of puberty, childbirth, and menopause. It is a place where you can feel safe and heard. Head over to their site and take a look! If you’re near Anacortes, WA then plan a visit to meet these incredible women!

For this design project, my mission was simple: to create a welcoming and inclusive brand for this non-profit. I had to find a way for women to not only know who they are and what The Holding Space does, but to also trust that this cooperative is a safe space.

THE OUTCOME

An identity that is timeless, inclusive and approachable. We chose to incorporate colors that can been seen in the beautiful surroundings of Anacortes, WA. Each color acts as a way to identify services, classes and events. This was a functional decision with the idea that as the cooperative grows, additional colors can be added.
